This could be the problem. The DW705 uses the same mechanism to stop the blade. When you let go of the switch, the polarity is reversed which causes the blade to stop. As a rule, if the blade brake goes bad check the brushes first because they are cheap and easy to fix. As suggested above, check the armature to makes sure it looks clean and is getting a good connection.

If those both look good, it might be something that a professional should look at.
