    Cool correct router bit

Was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the proper router bit to use when cutting a slot in the middle of a work piece. I want to wall mount a magazine rack I built and I would like to cut the slot you normally see in something like an awards plaque. I asume you would neede to use a plunge router to cut this. If anyone can help me out on this I sure would appreicate it. Thanks talk to ya later.

I can't understand the type of slot that you want a cut or the connection between a magazine rack and an awards plaque. Perhaps my problem is that I've never received an awards plaque!

    Default Router bit..........

Hey Stephen try a bit called a key-slot cutter. I once cut a slot without a plunge cut router with one by drilling a start hole same diameter as the large end on the key slot bit and then slowly bring the router down and then awat to make the slot.
