    Default DeWalt Cordless Drills

Is it just me or does DeWalt have a bunch of sorry products (cordless Drills). The forums I read is full of problems....I've e-mailed DeWalt several times regarding my drills....they don't even respond. I have a DC920....I've had to replace the switch...now the chuck "dogs" are not even with each other. I'm working on that problem....looks like I might be able to fix. My son gave me complete kit....Hammer drill, circular saw, recept saw, etc. The hammer drill, DW988, throwing sparks and smoke from the brush end...pulled out the brush holder, cleaned up everything....no help....probably will have to replace motor......I really think DeWalt has chuck and VSR trigger problems and they won't back up their product. I'll think twice next time......vernarooskie

For sure, every brand has its gremlins. Personally I haven't heard of more problems with Dewalt cordless tools over other brands. Over time any switch will wear out, but as for the motor, I do hear of a lot of people overworking their cordless drills (mixing mud, running 3" hole saws etc) which can cause a lot of problems. That may or may not have happened here. Of course Dewalt doesn't make their cordless drill chucks, but if I remember correctly that Jacobs chuck on the DW988 wasn't the best. Their new Rohm chuck is pretty impressive though.
