    Unhappy blade with no power

My husband has a delta 34-670 that is direct drive. He recently let his brother use it and now the motor runs and the blade turns until you go to cut wood. The blade stops and the motor continues to run. Is there a simple answer to this I hope. Hubby is going through sawdust withdrawal.

    Was this problem ever solved?

I don't have a saw like this, but looking at the parts diagrams, it looks like the only way the motor can run without the blade turning for the blade to be loose.

There is a very short belt in the motor assembly, item #226 on page B of the diagrams. It is a cog belt. If the blade spins until you start to cut I would suspect that the cogs have been worn off. I would suspect that a new belt, part #34-674 would fix the problem.

Let us know what you find.
