    Default Ryobi BC 30 brushcutter

I'm having problems keeping my Ryobi BC 30 running. It will start, but only run at top speed. It will not idle. It's almost as if it chokes out or the kill switch is initiated.

I've replaced fuel, lines, bulb, cylinder gasket, mufler gasket, carb gasket (large one), heat dam gasket, and the gasket on the back. Missed the small carb gasket, but it looks good. Cutter is only three years old and started acting up at the end of last season. Only used around the house, so it has low hours. Local repair shop suggested replacing the gaskets but will not touch it. They said if the gaskets didn't work; buy a new one!!!

    Any help??

    Default Ryobi BC30

I have found that the barrell sometimes comes loose from the crankcase. It then runs lean, as it sounds yours is. Strip down and replace it otherwise the barrell will be quickly ruined.
