I'm not being smartass with this reply.
1. You should just carefully read the instruction manual and follow directions.
2. You should never lend your compressor to anyone. If they have to borrow your compressor because they do not have one, then they probably don't know how to use it. eg. There was a cottage being built next to mine and the owner rented a compressor and ran a 100ft 16 guage extension cord from my place to his place to power it. He actually ran all his power tools off that extension. I never lend any of my tools out unless I go with them!
Hope this helps
Ed
That CPF4515 is an oil-free compressor so there's really not much of a maintenance schedule for it. The only guidelines I can find are:
- Check the safety valve before each use
- Drain the tank daily
- Check the air filter every couple weeks
Over time the piston ring will wear out and need replacement. Every year or so you might want to have a look at the piston ring and cylinder tube walls for wear. Eventually the compression will drop to where the tank won't pressurize all the way. It takes a long time though.
That's good advice too!Originally Posted by edh
You wouldn't believe the amount of broken tools we see in our shop that were broken by someone borrowing the tool. Happens all the time.
