Red face Ryobi ry08510/hand held blower

I have a ryobi hand held blower and it is not starting,i checked the spark plug and no sparks is going to the electrode,but sparks from the attachment to the top of the plud,but not coming through the plug to the tip of the plug do i a new coil pack?

Hello robl,

To correctly check for spark you will need a mechanic's spark tester. If you can test for spark with one and there is still no spark then you are correct you will need a new coil. If after the test you have spark then maybe look at doing a tune up. Replace the spark plug, the air filter and the fuel filter. May times that will get things up and running. If not then you may have some problems with the carburetor. If old gas gets left in the carb or if other dirt gets in there the carb will become clogged. Carburetor issues are the most common reason that a gas tool won't start.
