    Default kango 950

I repair kango 950's before. the place to get the piston rings. Call Anthony at Detroit diamond drilling. He sells the service kit that will replace all the seals and comes with the grease to use also (actually two types). Be sure to finger full of grease on the piston head, when putting back together. Helps create compression. The number to call is 313 864 3600. It stinks that you can't find new Kango's they are a great tool. We have four of them where I work.

    Default Kango spares and repair

Kango power tools were never taken over by Milwaukee. Both companies were taken over by Atlas Copco. This is how Milwaukee ended up with some of the Kango models in their line card.
If you have a non hammering 950, there is 3 probable causes.

    1) Worn down piston rings (early models had only one and the later ones had 2). Original part number for the piston rings was 2219 and after Atlas Copco took over it became 9170022199.

    2) The psiton could also be damaged or worn. Clearence between the piston and stricker should not exeed .004in.

    3) It could also be a seized anvil at the bottom.

The lubricant that was used in models 500, 501, 637, 638, 900 and 950 was manufactured by Mobil. The product was idendify as Mobilplex 47.

Any other question feel free to ask.

    Default Kango 950kv Service/shop manual

Hello has anyone ever located a service manual for a Kango 950KV ?
I`m from Canada and also trying to find a service kit and replace some carbide drill bits . The bits I`m presently using are from a company in England "Cintride" and are K Taper Hammer Drill Bit which fit in an adaptor with a hex end that fits in the drill bit holder. Does anyone know if other style bits could be used either with a different hex adaptor or is it possible a new Milwaukee 950 has the same style bit holder and might bolt onto mine and be able to use the new spline type? Thanks for any help
