Stanley Belt Sander
Hi guys
I need a drive belt for a Stanley belt sander
The model number is H-31A and the serial number is 1894L9
the belt is 1/2" WIDE AND 13 5/8 LONG with 41 teeth
The part number on the belt is: Syanley Power Tools No:29-22803.00
The sander from the 80's and is in good condition other than this belt
Any help you can provide would be great
Thanks
Mike

Stanley Power Tool Parts
Stanley power tool parts are a tough one. I don't know of any direct source for parts.
I found another post about the same sander on a different forum that was posted in 2005: Post
It doesn't look like he got a clear answer either.
I know that right around 1980 is when Stanley sold off their power tool division to focus on hand tools, etc. Does anyone out there know who they sold it too? If you found out who they sold it to, you could see if the new company manufactured any Stanley tools under another name, and if they have any compatible parts. I recall someone saying that they sold to Bosch, but I am really not sure.
The other places to look would be ebay and craigslist. Search for that model number on both sites and see what pops up. You might find someone selling that model for parts, or even a working model that you could use, and keep your sander as a double for parts.
I will ask our power tool technician on Monday if he has any other ideas. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

HI Dale here. Stantley Power Tools. Was bought out by Bosch. In 1982. So that Bosch would have a place to manufacture tools in the usa. The last time the belt was avalible. Was around 1994. Sorry no more belt.

mjrmn-
Thanks Dale for answering this.
Our tech said exactly what you said. Bosch bought out Stanley power tools in the early eighties, and the belt is not something that is available.
Keep trying ebay and craigslist, it is crazy what pops up there for cheap.
Good luck.
