Default Delta 36-235 Cmpd Miter Saw set screw

I need to replace part #129, a 1/4-20x3/4" hex soc set screw on my saw. Apparently this item is now obsolete. Two questions: What can I use as a replacement part? and With the hex head stripped, how can I remove the old screw from the saw?

    Default delta screw

    Hey Drdanb77,
Try this company for replacement..also the socket head part is not really that important as long as you match up the thread and size you can use another style of head..
    Home | Fastenal
Type in the specs in their search bar..
You can try removing the stripped out screw [head?] by clamping with a pair of vice grips if you have room..cutting a slot in the head enough to remove with a screwdriver..using a sharp chisel and knocking it loose..drilling the center and using an easy out...or braking off the head to relieve the pressure and then turning out by hand or some other device...
    hope this helps..?

    Default Thanks

Thank you, cmoorejack. Enough of the screw was exposed to allow me to saw a slot in the screw for a wide flat-blade screw driver and remove it. and fastenal.com seems to have replacement screws for just about any need. Thanks to you, I'm back in business.
