Default Parts Replacement

Am unable to recharge my Cordless Drill, and also discovered that the Charger is no longer available. Since I am not certain if the problem is the Battery or Charger, would you recommended just getting the replacemant part now available; that is, the Adapter, Part # 2610998245?

Hi bcalmes,

The adapter is only listed to work with the model #96VXT so I am not sure if it will work with your drill or not. I did a bit of research and found that the charger part #2607225367 and the battery part #2607335333 are the current replacements for your drill. Both of these are available from ereplacementparts.com.

I hope this helps!

Default Battery or Charger

Thanks for the help. It appears to me that the Charger is the problem; but, suppose the only way I can tell that is order the Charger. Is there any test to determine if the Battery is bad?

You can use a multimeter set to read Volts DC. The voltage should read within 1 or 2 volts, plus or minus of the specified battery voltage. Any less and the battery is dead or close too it. If the battery has been damaged then it will most likely read zero volts. It is a damaged battery that is the problem to your charger. When you plug the damaged or "shorted" battery into the charger it shorts out the charger.

Let us know how it goes.
