I'm looking for a motor for an AMT 4" jointer .

As I remember AMT went out of business around 10 years ago.
I don't know if that jointer used a universal motor or an induction motor. If it is a universal motor (armature, field, brushes) your probably out of luck. If it's an induction motor, should be able to find a motor easily. Most of the jointer motors are 1725 rpm. With a cutter head speed of approx. 5000 rpm. You will have to calculate your pulley sizes to get the correct rpm. Locate a motor repair shop in your area, they should be able to help you.
