Sears parts says that the starter assembly for their chainsaw (#$316.350220) is a discontinued item. The saw is worthless without it. The saw was manufactured by Ryobi but I don't know a Ryobi model #. Does anybody know how I can get this part?

If you haven't already found a starter, I think Randy Duncan at Randy's Engine Repair has one. He's pretty proud of it ($79.99), but I guess he knows they aren't available anymore either.
I have the same saw and have been having some difficulty locating quite a few of the parts for it. If you decide you don't want to buy the starter, I'd be interested in buying yours for spare parts for mine.
Good luck with it!

P.S. The chainsaw is actually a McCulloch (now MTD). The 316. prefix is used by Craftsman for several vendors...
