I am refurbishing a previously unloved but sound Delta 40-530 scroll saw, in New Zealand.
Here we are on 230V 50hz, but I assume that the motor is otherwise exactly the same as the US model.
I am wondering if it would be possible to "retrofit" this scroll saw to make it variable speed, perhaps using the control board for a Delta 40-540, or with another microcontroller. Can anyone advise me whether this is a practicable possibility? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
