    Default replacement chute motor yardman

Hi I have been told that the motor for a snowblower chute is the same motor that runs the electric window in a 70ish car. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Yep, it sure is the same. I had to do this about ten years ago. It cost twenty bucks at the auto graveyard as opposed to $200+ from the manufacturer.

They let me dig around on their shelves until I found one with the same footprint and electrical connector. I think I had to take out the final gear and shaft and substitute it with mine but that went pretty well.

I'm sorry I don't remember the car it came out of but I'm thinking early Eighties Pontiac. Anyway, I looked at JC Whitney on line today and saw they have what looks like a good match. Also no matter where you get the replacement- SEAL THE HECK OUT OF IT with RTV or something. Water intrusion is what killed my original.

    Good luck,

Default Addendum to window lift motor answer

I just looked at my replacement motor from the auto graveyard.
It has a number (24008618) on it that does show up as a VALEO window regulator motor when I Googled it. Hope that helps.
