dc925,chuck jaws won't close

I'm currently trying to replace one of those same problem chucks on a DC925,but the problem is,the jaws of the chuck won't close to secure the allen wrench,any suggestions would be more than welcomed,otherwise,I'll have to resort to my old method of cutting it halfway off using an angle grinder.

Hey qdea,
In the past I have been able to use a small pipe wrench gripped on the chuck and then smacked with a hammer...! [I have also had to use the cut off method..!]
