    Angry Bosch 11230EVS doesn't hammer.

I have a Bosch 11230EVS, SDSMax, that doesn't hammer at all. It feels like the piston isn't even moving. Drills turns ok, but absolutely no hammering action, or even a sound the the hammer function is even there. I've always taken care of my own stuff, and just downloaded the parts diagram. Is this something I can fix?

    Default no hammering

    Hey Creteman,
Sometimes these can be simple problems or they can turn into very complicated problems..usually the hammer drill develops a "dry pocket" where the striker and or the impact shaft loses its lubrication and just becomes stationary..complete dis-assembly is required and possible o-ring replacement and of course re lubing of the piston and striking chamber..you also need to use the right amount of grease and oil..you might also have some damaged parts the need replaced..there is also some specific dis-assembly procedures to follow...so..this one I would take into a repair center..
    hope this helps?

Thanks Craig. After reveiwing the parts diagram, and a more than 2 "second thoughts" about doing this myself, I took your advice.

If its not to late let me chim in. How long have you had the tool. Is it cold were your at. Try on thing before you take it in. start out in low speed. if it hammers at all. let it run there for about 60 seconds. then slowly turn up the speed. When there cold. the lube is to thick and wont let the striker slide in the piston. let me lnow if this works. I see it alot in the winter.
