    Default 11316evs

    Hey cmoorejack,
Thanks for the come back. I have the service pack and the parts diagram. I am not sure were to put the grease and lube. I asked the service guys if there was any literature for service or repair and they said there was not. Any help would be appreciated.

    Default instructions

    Hey Rocco,
If you remove the 4 cap screws from the front of the tool..[#27] you should be able to tap off the plastic hood [#38]..and have access to the housing cover [#845]..with the cover removed you will be able to clean out some grease from the cavity and add the 1 tube of grease back into the piston/gearbox..as far as the other tube of grease and o-rings you will have to go deeper into the tool..which I wouldn't recommend to a novice because of the complexity of the dis-assembly and re-assembly. If you are having problems with the hammering mechanism..this may be one for the service center..[I'm not saying you can't do it but it is difficult to go thru a step by step procedure thu e-mails or even by phone..
I hope this has been helpful?..

    Default Bosch 11316EVS

    Hey cmoorejack,

That's the answer I was looking for I will give that a try. The hammer is hammering for just a bit and then stops hammering. It is defintely in the hammering part of the tool. I'll give that a try and let you know. I was looking through all the emails and you seem to be the Guru for this type of tool. We have about 10 of these hammers and we used to send them out for repair. Now that buissiness is slow we are trying to do the repairs here. Thanks for your help!

    Default Bosch 11316EVS

Hey Jack, is cmoorejack a play on words? I put one tube of the grease in as you advised, it worked tremendously. I have a few more questions. I noticed now that it is a bit louder than the other ones we have. This one actually had a complete new motor installed in it late last year. Also when you turn it on it imediately starts hammering. What is your thoughts on these two items? Thank you for your help.

    Default starts hammering

    Hey rocco,
yup..it is a play on words....The 11316evs is a demolition hammer...so it only has a hammer only mode [not a drill only]..the hammer mech will work all the time..as far as it being noisier then that others it could be from more use, different characteristics..different model..using it left-handed..you know ..that kind of thing.. the tool will also operate and sound differently with a bit and under load..
If you start seeing grease leak out of the nose it might be time to go inside and do a complete service [the grease is actually starting to break down and run out the nose]

Based on my recent rebuild, the loudness is probably due to wear or lack of or breakdown of the lubercation or O-ring wear.

Without a decent seal, the pistons will be happy just hitting each other. Without any resistance on the bit, the hammer should be very quiet. I'd say rebuilding using the service kit would fix he problem.
