Red face Dewalt corded Reciprocating Saw....

    Hi,
I have a Dewalt corded Reciprocating Saw (cheapy kind)--don't know the model number, but I have a broken spring (the one that is used to release the saw blade)...I purchased another spring from this website, but can't figure out how to put it back on (since the first one was broken). Anybody have a picture of one they own (even if it is close to the same one I have would be helpful) or a diagram of one??? I have the quick release lever that the spring somehow attaches to, but I can't figure it out.
    Thanks in advance.

It's definitely better if I have a model number for reference since Dewalt has made so many different recip saws. Is the model number unreadable on the tool?

Go to Untitled Page and search for model# DW303M. This model has the same style of spring, maybe the parts breakdown can help you.

The DW303M is one model that has a quick release lever, but there are others too. The DW303M clamp assembly looks like this:

And the DW304P has a similar setup but it uses different parts and the spring is a little different:

Because there are multiple models of Dewalt reciprocating saws it's pretty important to get an exact model number. I want to make sure you've purchased the correct spring.

You can also try going to DeWALT Reciprocating Saw Parts : eReplacementparts.com and finding something close to what you have. A model number might be required to order correct parts but since you already have the spring it couldn't hurt to check some of those out.

Default Dewalt blade holder spring replacement (DW303M)

My entry is three years from the first post but the problem is the same. The expanded parts diagram is of no value. I don't need the part number. I don't need the part (yet). I need to see a picture of the spring mounted on the blade holder. It would have been helpful for me to pay more attention when I removed it.
