    How do you remove the center screw to take out the chuck?

    Screw is reverse thread. Once you take it out chuck an allen wrench to it, put it in low gear, lay the the drill & chuck on a level surface with the allen wrench at a 45 degree angle and hit the end of the allen wrench with a hammer in a counter-clockwise direction. Hope this helps.
