Hi, Thanks for the repair forum. I am hoping to repair my 925 hammer/drill (XRT) that fell off a ladder (8 ft.) The chuck cracked completely off. Can I replace the shaft? Will I be able to extract the portion of shaft still in the chuck? This is a great tool and I am starting to miss it! Thanks for your time.

You'll unfortunately need to get a complete geaerbox because the spindle isn't available separately. eReplacementParts has them here for $44.76:
eReplacementparts.com : TRANSMISSION [498460-00] - $44.76 In the past, when the chucks break completely off like that the spindle will come out pretty easily. Just remove the chuck screw from inside the chuck jaws (remember it's left-hand thread ) and often those spindles come out by hand. Maybe you'll have to use some pliers or an EZ-Out, but not in most cases. Of course, you'll probably want to make sure you can get the spindle out before you buy a new gearbox. Let me know how it goes! |
