how to remove bevel gear on makita 9227 sander?

i'm trying to replace the spiral bevel gear on my makita 9227cy sander/polisher. i can't see how to remove the old one from the spindle assembly.. does anyone know how?

Hey bptool,
It looks like a pressed on fit and it is best to use an hydraulic or arbor press to remove..pullers and a torch to heat the gear is another option..ugh if you have a local repair shop nearby they shouldn't charge too much to change out for you..it is also recommended that both gear components are replaced for maximum results..sorry.. I wish I had a better solution for you...

thanks. that will save me lots of headache trying and likely damaging parts while trying to pry or hammer the gear off.
