Default Porter Cable Compressor, CFFN250B-2 Compression problems

I'm having problems getting any air pressure over 40 p.s.i. It should be around at least 90. So it just runs all the time and hose gets very hot. I just bought this thing from a yard sale for $25. What would cause this problem. I wonder if the o-ring is shot and air is getting between piston. I hope some1 can help. Thanks

    Default 40 psi

    Hey Brandon,
Chances are the piston and cylinder are worn out...# KK-4964 connecting rod kit look for a broken or worn lip seal and or grooves inside the cylinder..
Be sure and check out your tube seal and valve plate assy also..you should be able to determine the problem as soon as you start dis-assembly
    hope this helps..

Default Porter Cable CFFN250B I think i found the problem

I noticed the valve plate assembly has a broken piece of metal that covers 1 of the 3 holes on the 1 side of plate.Could this be it. And if so what is the part # and is it available. I looked on this website and it won't tell me if any is available. I can't find this part anywhere.
