I'm trying to replace the blade case and need to remove the motor to do it. Any suggestions on how the motor comes off so it can be put on the new case.

    Hi duanejoy,

I think removing the motor looks worse than it will really be. Start by unplugging the saw of course! Now remove the motor brushes. You will likely need to remove the right side of the handle to give you enough wire length to remove the motor. Now you can remove the four screws at the base of the motor housing. With the screws removed the motor housing with the field attached will slide off of the armature. At the base of the armature there is a bearing retaining plate. Remove the two screws which attach it to the blade housing and you can now pull the armature off of the blade housing. That should be it for the removal of the motor.

Let us know how the repair goes!

I got the motor apart and back on and ran into one more problem. the hole that the saw blade guard screws into is smaller on the new case than the old one. It takes a special screw so that it can swivel. any one run into this yet

    thanks
