makita drill bhp452 troubles (leaf spring)

I tried to clean my drill since it was all jammed up with drywall dust and the leaf spring fell out and not sure where to put it back at. anyone got a sec to help me out?

Hi kane,

There is a slot for the leaf spring to fit into on the left side housing, up near where the gear selector slot is. You insert the small end of the leaf spring into the slot. When your replace the right side housing there is a channel that the wide end of the leaf spring will align with and follow as the side is reattached. You need to be careful to make sure that the leaf spring aligns with the channel when the side is reattached.
