    Default Ridgid R841151 G0347

    Greetings:

The chuck on my Ridgid R841151 G0347 has the "grippers" on the chuck wore / broke off. I took it to a local Ridgid repair shop three-four months ago, and was told at that time that the tool was not repairable. I stumbled on your page this afternoon and am wondering if the chuck on this unit is repairable/replaceable.
After reading many of the comments on this site, it would seem that this tool is too young to die.
Any help you may be able to offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help you might offer.
    LittleJohn.

Hi LittleJohn. The chuck on your drill is absolutely replaceable. Here's a link to your drill's parts diagram:

    Ridgid R841151 (after G0344) 18V Hammer Drill Parts : eReplacementparts.com

The chuck is #680301004 Fig #2 and it costs $63.33. That's a pretty hefty price for the OEM Ridgid chuck, but you can use this cheaper Jacobs chuck here:

    eReplacementparts.com : KEYLESS CHUCK [330075-59] - $39.95

Both will fit and they should work fine.
