Skilsaw HD5510 (Type 1) electrical circuitry

My saw doesn't work when I turn on the switch. The blade doesn't rotate. How can I troubleshoot the problem?

Hi Jerry,

Sounds like an electrical issue to me. I would start with a multimeter and test continuity through each component. Check the cord and the switch. Take a look at the brushes and make sure that they still have some life in them. If everything tests out OK then the problem is likely with the field or armature. You will need to take the saw to a shop to have those tested.
