I inherited a Stanley Trim Router (motor - 90084 & base - 82979.02). I've l cleaned it up & replaced the cracked power cord. I have a question regarding the brushes, they are about 1/4" long. At what point should these brushes be replaced and where can I find brushes for something this old? Bosch bought Stanley Power Tools in the early '70s; they don't have any information on this tool.
Thanks, Ray |

Hi rcsec,
Your brushes should still have a fair amount of life left in them. I would say that they are about half or a little less worn. Finding any replacement parts for your trim router is going to be a challenge. All of the parts for it where discontinued in the early 90's. Your best bet for new brushes would be a local repair shop where they could try to fit a set to your router. I hope this helps! -UtahAV -Mark |
