Dewalt radio works then doesn't work?

Hi, my radio a Dewalt DC011 doesn't work all the time. It works when it's dry out or put into the house, then when it rains or is left out side it quits working. Dry it out for a couple of days and its fine. Everything else works except for the sound. Can you tell me what the problem might be please???? Thanks!!!!

Hi Dawn,

It sounds to me like the radio is getting some water inside. The water is probably shorting out the circuits. It doesn't take much water inside to cause headaches. The water will evaporate inside and then condense on the circuit boards.

You need to keep the radio dry. If the water keeps getting inside it will eventually cause a bad short that will ruin one or all of the circuit boards resulting in a costly repair.
