Dead Saw?

My 6 year old, much used BX-3 just stopped working for the first time. The blade continued spinning after releasing the trigger, and then within a couple minutes it stunk and then had no power. Now it won't even turn. Repairs or new motor? Thanks.

Hi Matt, I sounds to me like a new motor is in order. The bad smell is usually caused by the insulation on the armature melting. A failed armature would also cause the loss of power. The new motor is part #157801-R and is available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com. Thanks! -Mark
