full throttle speed cut off

i can get the motor started and rough idle,but will cut off when i squeeze the trigger for max speed. i changed the spark plug
cleaned the starting system, but no luck.

Hi David Sounds like the engine is starved for air. Check the air filter. If it is plugged with dirt and grass that may just be the problem. If the air filter seems OK then it is likely a carburetor issue. There are no carburetor rebuild parts for this trimmer so the carb will need to simply be replaced. It is part #985893001 and is available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com. Good luck with your repair! -Mark
