    Default 705r trimmer clutch repl

    I want to replace clutch had to drill out screw.is this a left handed screw and do I need a puller for the clutch removal

    Hi Paul,

    The clutch is threaded onto the motor shaft. It is a regular thread, counterclockwise to remove. You might try putting a rag over it and then using a large set of adjustable pliers to remove it. To keep the motor from rotating while you remove the check do the following. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder. Take a length of small diameter rope, like a shoe lace. Drop the rope through the spark plug hole into the cylinder. Be sure to leave enough of the rope hanging out so you can remove it later. The rope will bind up the piston without damaging it so you can remove the clutch.
