Default clamp to link the two parts of trimmer

I have a Ryobi trimmer that can be used to adapt an edger but the clamp that links the edger and the shaft is so weak that when starting the engine the edger part is disconnected due to vibration

    Hi Loc,

I think you could solve the problem but it would take a bit of modification.

The end of the bolt opposite which the knob is attached to has been mushroomed so that it can't come loose and be lost. You will need to grind the mushroomed part off so that the bolt can be removed. Take the bolt to a home center with you. Find a flat washer and a rubber washer that will fit the bolt. Slide the rubber washer on the bolt first followed by the flat washer. Now reinstall the bolt onto the trimmer. The rubber washer should provide enough cushion and grip to keep the knob from coming loose.

    I hope this helps!
