    Default checking the motor

    how do i check if the motor on the RY41002 trimmer has gone bad or if it is just the switch?

    Hi Linda,

    You won't be able to test the motor without specialized equipment but you can definitely test the cord and switch. If the cord and switch are OK you can pretty safely assume that the motor is bad. You can test the switch and cord with a multimeter set to measure impedance. (ohms) Check continuity through the cord then through the switch. If both test OK the problem is most likely with the motor.

    The cord is part #UT41002A-31, the switch is part #UT41002A-36 and the motor is part #099015003006. All of these parts are available from http://ereplacementparts.com.
