DYI Dustbuster Battery Replacement?

Is it possible to replace the battery on a Black & Decker CHV9600?

My experience level is medium.

It looks doable -- I am ordering battery.
1) remove two bottom screws
2) unsnap gray base (see two white tabs near the two screws)
3) possibly loosen 5 side screws (i did this).
4) remove two screws and battery snaps out

I reassembled it -- trick is to note that there is tongue and groove for the battery pack that must be in place before the four black tabs will fit

Thank you Paul. I did replace the battery. It's not for the fainthearted. You do need to remove the side screws to extricate, unplug and replug the battery. Pay close attention to the location of the large spring, since that is not obvious if it falls out. Also remember the location of the two small pointed screws that secure the battery in addition to the tabs.

I lost one of the screws that attaches the battery pack. Hopefully, I will find it.

Yes, do note the position of the spring...I didn't, but figured out where it went.
This is not a project for the faint of heart as stated and it is not a project for an impatient person.
I am back in business and so pleased!
