no electricity coming out
How come it is not making any electricity when it is running?

Hi Herb,
Start by checking to make sure that the circuit breaker is not tripped. If all is good there and you have a multimeter you could check to see if you have power on the generator side of the circuit breaker. If so you will just need to replace the breaker. If there is no power at the breaker then the problem will be within the generator itself. You will need to take it to a repair shop to have it worked on. Remember that you are dealing with 120v power. You don't want to mess with the generator if you don't know exactly what you are doing as there is a great chance of electrical shock. A good repair shop will also have several special pieces of test equipment to help diagnose the problem and make the repair.
I hope this helps!
