Default Removing Pulley for Cog Belt

I am working on a Porter-Cable Model 352 VS Type 3, 3x21 belt sander. How do I get the small cog pulley off of the end of the motor shaft (part 37A)? I need to put new bearings in the motor and I can't get the pulley off to disassemble the motor from the frame. Please help.

The least painful way is to order a new one before dis-assembly then use a chisel and hammer to tap it until it moves. They are left hand thread and come off very easily once they begin to move. I have done several of these and have tried a section of hose and vise grip many times but always have resorted to a chisel and a new gear. The gear is cheaper than the bearings you are going to replace anyway. Good luck.
