volume problem

When I turn on the radio the volume goes to high right away. Sometimes it works properly.

Hi Dave,

Troubleshooting a jobsite radio can be very difficult. You would need to know the logic of each of the circuit boards to be able to diagnose which one is causing the problem. Common sense would say if there is a problem with the volume you need to replace the volume control board but the problem could just as well be with the main circuit board. Your best bet with a radio is to take it to your local service center. The way that most shops will fix the problem is to replace the board that is most likely to be the problem and hope it works. If not, it is on to the next board until it is fixed. You could do the same but you would need to buy each board to try it. If you don't guess right it can quickly become very costly.
