    Default Mitre Saw problem

Can anyone give me some advice on a problem that I am having...when the trigger is pressed the saw does not engage fully. The blade slowing starts spinning until it gathers speed...then the saw blade is at full speed....what is happening? The saw was working perfectly fine until this problem started. I have disassembled the saw and have not found any part cracked or loose...Any suggestions??

Does the motor run at full RPM initially or does it also slowly spool up as well?

Now that I have pulled all apart, I think the motor runs at full RPM...the blade then gathers speed.
I'm thinking I will be ordering a few new parts -- jackshaft, new brushes and armature...hopefully that all helps.

check and see if the blade is loose.

I thought that too...but the blade was quite tight. It is an old saw--might need to order parts....
