Default porter cable mag circular saw locking blade clamp

Like many posts I have read, the locking blade clamp broke on my porter cable mag saw. Now I can't change the blade. I've order the bolt and flange, but now have the problem of removing the broken clamp. I've tried pliers, lock pliers, and so on with no luck (too little area to grip). I'm ready to cut the sides straight with a Dremmel tool, but was looking for advice so I don't screw something up. Any suggestions...

just take a 4" grinder and cut it in half , just beside the lever. pull the planet gears out .then take a hammer and punch and spin off the nut
