    Default Chuck, gear, or transmission

I attempted to use my XRP drill as a ratchet, meaning the chuck was locked in on a nut driver and I tried to turn a Tapcom screw. If you were looking at the chuck, head on, I turned the drill counterclockwise. Much like how you would remove the chuck. Now when I try to drill it will stop and make a very loud grinding sound. Is it possible I have only loosened the chuck? I feel like I've done more damage than that, however it still works as long as the job doesn't require much torque.
