    Default blade guard replacement

I am replacing a blade guard on a bosch cs10 circular saw. I am down to the retaining ring and need help on getting it out.

When i ordered my parts, i forgot to order the screw for the guard lever. Does anyone know what size screw it is and is it a self tapping screw because i don't see any threads in the guard.

I just looked at the parts diagram for your saw, there was a couple choices based on serial number. From the one I looked at it looks like you need to take a small pick or pointed punch and start at the end of the retaining ring and pry it out. I would think a 90* pick would work best. I also looked at the screw you mentioned, there is a picture of it on the parts diagram and it looks like a machine screw and not self taping.

Try finding the parts diagrams for your saw on ereplacementparts and then click on the picture of the retaining ring and screw and you will be able to see better.
