Question HD Right Angle Milwaukee - sheared chuck

I have a 48-06-2871 Right Angle Drive unit that has sheared off the threaded stem of the reversing spindle that the chuck srews unto. I would like to replace the reversing spindle without replacing the whole head. I can buy the separate part but I can not get the old parts apart. I know there is a woodruff key holding part of it together but as I say I can't them apart. Can anybody tell me how to break it down so I can replace the one part? I would appreciate it very much.

remove both inner retainer rings.Put the broken end into a vice or something of that sort.take a rubber hammer <or pc of wood & hammer> and hold the RAD in the up right postion and hit it on the lowest part of the RAD as u can, until it pops out. but u will need a press to get the gear off. ITS ON THERE

Default HD Right Angle Drill - sheared chuck

Doctor D. thank you. Since I do not have a press your response of using a vice to hold the parts also gave me the idea to use my vise like a press. I drilled a hole in very hard wood big enough for the reversing spindle to fit in and placed it in the vice and cranked away pressing the spindle out of the gear and bearing freeing the spindle from all the other parts. Now I have it apart and can order up the individule parts i need instead of a whole assembly. Thank you. Dwils
