    Default bad gas

I replaced the carburetor and the thing still runs with low power. Could it be the spark plug got messed up with the old gas and should I replace it?

    Hi Jeff,

Most low power issues will involve the muffler of the piston and cylinder. Check the muffler to be sure it is not clogged. A clogged spark arrestor screen will prevent the exhaust from flowing through the engine and cause a loss of power. I would also do a compression test on the cylinder. A worn cylinder and piston will cause the engine to have low compression and a loss of power.

    Good luck with your repair!
