Noisy saw

The brake on my saw makes an awful grinding noise when I release the trigger. The saw runs good and sounds fine until I release the trigger. Do I have a bearing in the brake assembly going bad? It sounds like a bad bearing, but is only heard after releasing the trigger.

Usually the brake of a power tool is electrical. There is not really a bearing specific to a brake assembly because there is not one.

Check to see if your blade is securely tightened. Mine did this recently, the bolt holding the blade was loose. Corrected that and no more problem.
