Default DC988 hammer drill busted spindle

Hi, picked the drill motor up today and touched the trigger and the chuck fell off. Apparently it took a fall. Hmm.
Anyhow, chuck still works fine other than the fact it isn't attached. Half the spindle is still on the drill and half still in the chuck.

part 1: Down in the chuck is what appears to be a bolt with a T20 head and a washer (in the end of the spindle.) Is this a left hand thread? How do I get it out when the silly spindle keeps turning in the chuck. Turning it counter clockwise it seemed to just lock up and I had quite a time getting it unlocked. Turning it clockwise, the chuck tightens up on the torx bit and keeps it from coming out.

part 2: there are 3 tiny bolts with T10 heads going back into the front of the drill, in front of the chuck. I haven't done anything to these yet. Go ahead and take them out? Will there be any surprises?

part 3: Near as I can tell, I just need this part:
    eReplacementParts.com : Spindle Assembly [611904-00] - $31.08
But then again I might be completely wrong about that. Comments?

Thanks for helping a first time poster,

*edit* The end down in the chuck must be this bolt here:

Which is listed as a reverse thread. And it has red loctite on it. So, I guess I just need to get tough with it?

Yep, just took a little more muscle, yes it was reverse threads, and no, there wasn't much of a surprise behind the 3 bolts in the drill face.
