Have removed the guard assembly to clean up an older Model 314 (type 5) Porter Cable trim saw and now am not able to get the brass gear at the other end of the assembly to "mesh" back into the worm gear attached to the armature. I am wondering if there is some trick to get these two gears back in sync. I cannot get the outer cover to sit down flush with the rest of the saw in order to get the three small bolts re-attached. It looks easy but I can't figure out what the problem is.
