    Default carb. adjustment

My Ryobi BC-30 would run with no problems one year ago but now it will only run with the choke in 1/2 choke position. The air filter is clean, good clean gas in it. The muffler is clean and not stopped up. The plug is clean and properly gapped. I removed the carb. and blew air through all passages & used carb cleaner.

    Hi Ron,

Sounds like a clogged carb to me. The passages in the carb are so small that the only way you can really clean it is by disassembling it. This is a bit of a risk on your Ryobi carb as Ryobi does not offer a rebuild kit to replace the inner pieces of the carb so you must be very careful while taking it apart. We cover this repair in the following article and video...

The other option is to simply replace the carb. It is part #308054013.

I hope this helps with your repair!
