Broken Pull Start Rope
How hard is it really to replace one of these? I bought it last year and the rope snapped last week. Everyone is telling me to just buy a new trimmer.

Hi Dennis,
Replacing the starter rope on many 2-cycle tools can be a difficult task due to the need to rewind and reconnect a hard to work with starter spring. Replacing the entire starter assembly however is really a fairly simple repair that most homeowners can perform themselves. It is just a matter of removing the shaft, the clutch drum and the clutch plates and then the starter itself. Most folks have the most difficulty removing the clutch drum. We have an article and video that will guide you through that part of the repair. You can find the article and video at the following link...

I hope this helps with your trimmer repair!
