New Belts Immediately Walk

I bought the 352VS based on rave reviews..BUT..I have yet to be able to use it(!) I have tried several 3x21 belts(by Gator)and they all walk immediately after I switch it on. I have jimmied with the settings without success. It feels as if the tension is not tight enough to hold the belt in place...or the metal wheel in front should be gripper coated like its rear neighbor?

I think that your tension idea is possibly responsible, the tension lever on my sander is VERY stiff, the lever cuts into the fingers when pulling it back...

As for the belts, I only use the FANDELI brand, I have wore out a dozen and never a problem...
